About me
Kai Yang received the Ph.D. degree from Columbia University, USA. He has held various prestigious positions, including Technical Staff Member at Bell Laboratories, Alcatel-Lucent, USA;
Tech Lead at Futurewei Technologies, USA. Since 2011, he has also served as an adjunct faculty member at Columbia University.
Currently, he is a Distinguished Professor at Tongji University, Shanghai, China.
He holds over 20 patents and has been extensively published in Top AI conferences and leading IEEE journals and conferences.
His current research interests encompass AI+Networking, AI for Time Series, Nested Optimization and Wireless Sensing and Communications.
He has also served as a Technical Program Committee (TPC) member for numerous AI and IEEE conferences.
He has received several prestigious awards, including the Eliahu Jury Award from Columbia University,
the Bell Laboratories Teamwork Award, and the Best Paper Honorable Mention Award for time series workshop of IJCAI 2023.
From 2012 to 2014, he was the Vice-Chair of the IEEE ComSoc Multimedia Communications Technical Committee.
Additionally, he has held leadership roles such as Demo/Poster Co-Chair for IEEE INFOCOM,
Symposium Co-Chair for IEEE GLOBECOM, and Workshop Co-Chair for IEEE ICME.

Oct. 2024: One paper "Interventional Causal Structure Discovery over Graphical Models with Convergence and Optimality Guarantees" has been publised in IEEE Transactions on Network Science and Engineering!
Sep. 2024: One paper "Tri-Level Navigator: LLM-Empowered Tri-Level Learning for Time Series OOD Generalization" was accepted to the NeurIPS 2024!
July. 2024: One paper "Anomaly Detection in Event-triggered Traffic Time Series via Similarity Learningn" has been published in IEEE Transactions on Dependable and Secure Computing!
June 2024: Two PhD students have graduated! Dr. Dou will be joining Ant Finance as a reseach scientist. Dr. Ma will be joining Xingjiang University as a tenture track assistant professor
May. 2024: One paper "Triadic-OCD: Asynchronous Online Change Detection with Provable Robustness, Optimality, and Convergence" was accepted to the ICML 2024!
Feb. 2024: Two papers "Robust Beamforming for Downlink Multi-Cell Systems: A Bilevel Optimization Perspective" and "Provably Convergent Federated Trilevel Learning" were presented at AAAI 2024!
